Sponsored Wayfair Craft Redux: DIY Memory Box

Image
I have been compensated for this post as a member of the Wayfair Homemaker Program,  all ideas and opinions are completely my own #sponsored  My husband turned 40 this year and we celebrated in epic style. For the 40 days leading up to his birthday, I left him daily notes filled with pictures, poems, lyrics, and clues about his party theme and secret ocean front getaway that would follow. We have many great memories from his milestone birthday, but it's been a few months now and they are all still laying in a big pile on my husband's dresser. What my husband needs is a special place to store his cherished memories.  Being this is National Craft Month, Wayfair challenged me to re-create my first online craft project (a memory box gift box pictured below) and revamp it. I love a great challenge and immediately knew that a 40th birthday memory box was the perfect craft re-do!   The original craft project, over 5 years ago. Such terrible photography. I cringe posting th...

3.14 = Pi Day!

Image
W e had to delay our Monthly Dinner by a week, and it just so happened to fall on March 14th (3.14).  The date was so perfect I just had to make my theme Pi Day!  And to be honest...who doesn't love pie? Invite:  I created the invite on Photoshop. If I were mailing invitations, I would have made the strawberry pie so that it could rotate and reveal the party details as you rotated it around clockwise.  That was my original plan, but with time constraints, I just created this one to email out. Entry Decor:   I made a simple sign for inside the front door using form board and card stock.  The numbers/letters I cut out using my Cricut. It look a bit of time to glue on all the border numbers, but I finished it (barely) in time for the party. Table Decor: I went with a color palette of red, yellow, black, and white for my decor.  I wanted to incorporate both the mathematical sign Pi as well as Pies in my decor.  The table runner I made out of card st...

Brody's Scuderia: A Ferrari Inspired Birthday Party

Image
Anyone have kids that love fast cars?!! My boys are obsessed with sports cars. They have even picked out their future first cars... a BMW i8 and Red Mustang. Yes, we can all dream, can't we? I wasn't surprised when my nephew requested a Ferrari theme for his 9th birthday party. I knew there would not be a lot of party supplies available for this very specific car/theme. I had to get a little creative. Luckily I found the cutest Ferrari printable collection on Etsy by  Art Paper Party.  This really saved the day along with a custom Ferrari inspired banner by Piggy Bank Parties  (keep reading to see what the banner means in Italian).  An awesome welcome sign in the Ferrari font for the birthday boy.  I kept desserts simple and fun. Chocolate covered "donut tires" and mini gold trophies filled with mini "steering wheel" Oreos.  Who doesn't love party blowers? Well, parents... but kids love 'em.   I customized the blowers with the small party circles fr...
